Testimony of
Shaili Aviani
On that Shabbat morning, Shaili and her family were in the safe room, when she got a call from a friend: "I see a terrorist with a parachute coming towards Kfar Aza." Shaili has always had severe anxiety about red alerts since her father was appointed as the military security coordinator for the kibbutz. Shaili rushed to report to her father what her freind had told her. He left the house and went to the armory, and called the standby squad to action. At the house, calls kept pouring in. Everyone was looking for him. Everyone wanted him to save them. But he couldn’t answer them. Shaili's father fought and killed thirty terrorists, before he died a heroic death, defending his family and community. Shaili did not have time to say goodbye to him. So she decided to spread the story of his heroism.
