Testimony of
Nofar Gahali
Nofar Gahali, a 23-year-old from Gedera, was celebrating with her friends at the Nova Festival. When the rockets started, she began to flee with a friend. They escaped by car but encountered an ambush of terrorists. They ran towards the fields and hid in a bush for about two hours. Around them, a gunfight took place. They took advantage of a momentary lull and ran to the road, where they met with security forces. They were evacuated by vehicle to the gas station at Urim and from there to the police station in Ofakim. Besides fearing for her friends' safety, Nofar was also worried about her sister, who was also at the party and escaped by a different route. Now, Nofar is coping with the harsh memories and the sense of loss of her friends. She relies on her faith in God and her belief in her ability to overcome and emerge stronger even from the most challenging events.
