Testimony of
Naomi Lorbert
Naomi Lorbert has lived in Netiv HaAsara for many years. On Friday, her daughter, Chen, went to spend the weekend with her partner in Rehovot, and Naomi spent a quiet evening by herself. On Saturday, she woke up to the sound of the alarm and entered the safe room, where she spent an entire day alone, without electricity and water, and later also without a phone because its battery was dead. She kept the curtains drawn and was in absolute silence. At noon, a soldier knocked on her door and asked if she had seen terrorists in the yard. In retrospect, it turned out that a paraglider got stuck in the tree in the yard, and miraculously, the terrorists thought that no one was home. When it got dark, she decided to go out to the neighbors; from there, she called her daughter and asked her to come and pick her up. The daughter managed to reach her despite the barriers, rescued her mother, and brought her to Rehovot.
