Testimony of
Maor Ben Yair
A group of friends came to Nova to celebrate Maor's birthday, and it was an extraordinarily fun time. At 6:20 in the morning, there was a red alert. Initially, everyone lay down until Maor's friend called for everyone to get up and leave. They managed to exit the traffic jam at the parking lot entrance and made their way through the grounds to reach the road. In every direction they traveled, they encountered terrorists. They decided to abandon the vehicle and escape on foot, but they were shot at for hours, no matter which way they went. They eventually found refuge in the greenhouses of Patish, where they met the military security coordinator. The coordinator directed the survivors of the massacre at the party towards the settlement, whose residents provided them with shelter, food, and transportation to Beer Sheva. It took days for Maor to understand the full extent of the disaster.
