Testimony of
Avital Shindler
On the morning of October 7th, terrorists broke into the Schindler family’s home. The father, Amichai, was injured by a bomb that was set off near the door of the safe room where the family was hiding. When the rapid response team arrived, the paramedics had to treat Amichai at home, because it was impossible to evacuate him. Avital tried to keep up the spirits of her husband and their six children by reading chapters of Psalms and singing holiday songs. After a few hours, Amichai was finally taken to the hospital. Avital has been juggling between visiting her husband in the hospital and taking care of their six children. She believes that they will return to live in Kerem Shalom.
